Personal profile

Profile

Head of Department for Department of Chemistry since 1 May 2010.

Department of Chemistry has a wide range of educational and research activities as well as an active innovation and entrepreneuship culture.

I am active as research leader within applied thermodynamics with a number of projects supported by the Innovation Foundation as well as Danish and international companies. During the period September 2009  to June 2014 I was Center Director of the Center for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE). This center is an expansion and development of the Center for Phase Equilibria and Separation Processes (IVC-SEP), of which I was the Director from 1994 to 2009. From 1 July 2014 to 31 January 2017 Scientific Director for Enhanced Oil Recovery at the Danish Hydrocarbon Research and Technology Centre (Centre for Oil and Gas - DTU).

CERE is involved in applied thermodynamics, colloid & interface science, geology and scientific computing. The center combines a range of discipplines that are of great importance for oil, gas, carbon capture and storage (CCS), as well as geothermal energy. Further more the center is engaged in generic research in the basic disciplines. CERE has acitivities at DTU Chemistry, DTU Chemical Engineering, DTU Compute, DTU Space, and DTU Civil Engineering.

My main tasks are heading the Department of Chemistry and supervising research within my scientific area.
