Professor Christensen is currently coordinator of the7th frame programme project MERMAID, http://www.mermaidproject.eu/. Further, he has been involved in several research programs funded by Danish and European agencies, such as SASME, DELOS, Safe Offload, SBWI, SDWED,FIELD_AC, FMK, MSBWI. The main subjects of the research and projects are analyses of breaking waves, flow around offshore and coastal structures, sediment transport, shoreline development, analyses of moored ships in harbours and in the open sea, and wave loads on large structures such as offshore wind turbine foundations.
