Jeg har ansvaret for den del af Afdeling for Ernæring, der arbejder med de nationale undersøgelser af kostvaner og fysisk aktivitet.

Min forskning er fokuseret på kosten blandt børn, især spæd- og småbørn, og kostundersøgelsesmetoder. Jeg er projektleder for den nationale kostundersøgelse blandt spædbørn og småbørn, og deltager som leder af en del af et EU-støttet forskningsprojekt, Efcoval (www.efcoval.eu), der undersøger en fælles kostundersøgelsesmetode for de europæiske lande. Jeg har desuden beskæftiget mig med den faglige dokumentation for de danske kostråd, generelt og især vedr. frugt og grønt. Jeg har i mange år rådgivet Fødevarestyrelsen og Sundhedsstyrelsen vedr. kost og ernæring, med fokus på spæd- og småbørn, og vedrørende næringsdeklarationer ernæringsmæssige anprisninger og sundhedsanprisninger på fødevarer.

Jeg har således flere års erfaring inden for ledelse: forskningsprojektledelse og arbejdsgruppeledelse og som souschef og konstitueret forskningschef også personaleledelse.

Research areas

Main research areas are dietary habits, dietary assessment methods and infant and child nutrition. Recent projects have also included diet related to fecundability and modelling of food and nutrient intake related to food pattern, nutrient recommendations, food based dietary guidelines, and sustainability of food consumption. Has been involved in several intervention studies e.g. regarding health promotion in school children and reduction of salt intake as PhD supervisor and co-supervisor.

Research-based public sector consultancy

National dietary surveys. Infant and toddler nutrition aspects and food based dietary guidelines for the general public (climate friendly) and for day-care, schools and worksite canteens. In recent years I have also been  involved in advisory tasks related to fortification of foods, monitoring of salt content of foods related to the public-private partnership on reducing salt intake from foods and the process of updating and developing the Danish food composition database on nutrients at the internet.
