Christian Damsgaard Jensen conducts research in the area of security in distributed systems, where he is particularly interested in the development of models, policies and mechanisms that support secure collaboration in open distributed systems, such as pervasive computing, mobile computing and sensor networks.
Christian Damsgaard Jensen is an Associate Professor in the Systems Security section at the Department of Informatics and Mathematical Modelling. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Copenhagen and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I, France). He held a position as Lecturer in Computer science at Trinity College Dublin from 1998 to 2002, where he was appointed to his current position.
Christian Damsgaard Jensen is responsible for the courses in Data Security and Applied Cryptography and teaches on the courses in Distributed Systems and Current Topics in System Security. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, conferences and workshops.
1993-1994: Erasmus Freemover exchange student at Unité Mixte Bull-IMAG, Grenoble, France.
1995-1999: Ph.D. student at Université Joseph Fourier (Grenoble I), France.
1998-2002: Lecturer in Computer Science at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.

Christian Damsgaard Jensen addresses the development of models, policies and mechanisms to support secure collaboration in potentially large-scale open distributed systems, such as pervasive computing, ambient intelligence, sensor networks and the Internet. He focus, in particular, on the development of new security abstractions and mechanisms to address security in such highly dynamic environments. He has published more than 60 peer-reviewed papers in international journals, conferences and workshops.
He is an internationally recognised expert in the area of Trust Management, where the human notions of trust and reputation are applied in the context of computer and network security. He has served as both General- and Program Co-chair for the International Conference on Trust Management.
