Ashraf Khalil received the PhD from University of Birmingham, UK, in 2012 and the BSc and MSc degrees from University of Benghazi, Libya, in 2000 and 2006 respectively. From 2012 to 2015, he was the head of electrical engineering department at University of Benghazi, Libya. He was an assistant professor at Universiti Teknologi Brunei from 2018 to 2021. Since 2022 he is an associate professor at DTU Engineering Technology. 

 His main research interests include renewable energy systems, time delay systems microgrids, applications of aritificial intelligence and machine learning in power system operation and control.
