Anne brings twenty years of experience in international policy advice, technical assistance and research on climate change mitigation and adaptation in the context of sustainable development. Anne has held management and leadership positions for the past 12 years, involving responsibility for the strategic planning, coordination and implementation of UDP’s activities on climate change planning and policy.

Since 2012, Anne has been heavily involved in managing, authoring, editing and outreach of the two annual UNEP flagship reports on climate change: the Emissions Gap Report and the Adaptation Gap Report, guiding and coordinating the work of 60+ scientists from 35+ institutions in 20+ countries.

Currently, much of Anne’s work focuses on advancing our understanding and ability to assess and track progress on mitigation and adaptation locally and globally. Activities related to this include supporting countries in developing frameworks, policies and actions to enhance ambition and accelerate the implementation of the Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement.

Anne was awarded the Technical University of Denmark prize for scientific advice in 2017. She joined the Policy and Finance Committee of the World Adaptation Science Programme governed by UN Environment Programme and the World Meteorological Organisation (2018-). She is head of the External Advisory Board for the EU Horizon 2020 research project titled COACCH (2018-) and is also on the advisory board for the Master of Science in Global Health & Master of Disaster Management at University of Copenhagen (2015-).

Anne holds Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in economics from Roskilde University and Copenhagen University respectively.
