Personal profile

Profile

Other information

Tidligere medlem af en ILSI ekspertgruppe “ILSI Europe expert group on nutritional characteristics of foods. Model evaluation using food intake studies”.

Research areas

Main research is devoted to the Danish National Survey of Dietary Habits and Physical Activity. This includes investigating the association between dietary habits and patterns and official nutrition recommendations in the Danish population as well as the validation and development of the instruments (7-day precoded food record) used to gather information about the nations diet.

Additional research is e.g. nutritional modelling/optimization serving as a background for nutrition recommendations e.g. guidelines for healthy meals served in schools and preschools.

Other research topics: Nutrient-poor, energy-dense foods, discretionary energy, portion size.

Advisory tasks have focused on nutrition recommendations and dietary guidelines to improve public health and assessment of the health value of various foods and nutrients. Special attention has been given to nutrient-poor, energy-dense foods, which replace healthier foods in the diets of Danes limiting the ability to achieve recommendations for other foods.

In addition, advisory tasks deal with assessment of dietary intake and consequences hereof in the Danish population.
