Ana Carolina Lopes Antunes

Ana Carolina Lopes Antunes

(Former)

I got my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – University of Lisbon in October 2013. While I was studying, I performed several trainees in small animals practice, animal welfare and in Epidemiology. I worked in collaboration with public services, universities, veterinarians, farmers and private companies both in Europe and in Africa.

My research focused on exploring different monitoring methods to detect changes in swine mortality and to find possible links among diseases occurrence, antibiotic usage, and other data streams (such as meat inspection and laboratory diagnostic data). The aim of the project is to evaluate the potential of using the data current register in Danish databases for monitoring endemic swine diseases.
