CASMaT, Villum Center for Advanced Structural and Material Testing is the key research infrastructure at DTU servicing experimental research in mechanics of materials and structures. The Center is organized to align use of equipment and expertise at DTU across a range of application areas and length scales. 

The Center merges DTUs strong competences in experimental mechanics and creates a synergetic framework for the research community at DTU. The Center collaborates with similar facilities nationally and internationally to strengthen the international network of mechanical experimental and testing facilities.

Organisation
CASMaT is established as a collaboration between 3 DTU departments: DTU Civil Engineering, DTU Mechanical Engineering and DTU Wind Energy. The Center is physically located at the partners’ premises at DTU Lyngby and Risø Campuses.

Head of Center is Henrik Stang

The Head of Center coordinates and oversees the day-to-day management of the center and is appointed by and reports to the Steering Committee.
