Organisation profile

Organisation profile

Our ambition is to deliver impact by research in meteorological modelling of atmospheric conditions over land and ocean, resulting in understanding, methods and data, relevant at the level of wind turbines, wind farms and the energy system.

Our research focuses on understanding meteorological phenomena affecting wind energy, from turbine site to system level, over terrain and ocean. Multi-scale modelling is the primary approach, validated against measurements. Methods are disseminated to stakeholders via software, datasets, services and publications.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):

  • SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 13 - Climate Action
  • SDG 14 - Life Below Water
