The primary task of the Research Group for Chemical Risk Assessment and GMO is to conduct risk assessments related to the presence of chemicals as well as genetically modified organisms, GMO, in food and the environment. The group is also part of work to improve methods for risk assessment and to create innovative tools that optimize risk assessment methodologies.

The main function of the Research Group for Chemical Risk Assessment and GMO is to deliver risk assessments related to the presence of chemicals as well as genetically modified organisms, GMO, in food and the environment. The work is carried out primarily for national and international authorities. The focus is on using the most relevant, evidence-based methods.

The group stays up-to-date with best practice through participation in a number of Danish and international forums. The group is also part of research projects aimed at developing better methods and tools, including QSAR, for use when conducting risk assessments. The aim is to ensure risk assessments are based on the latest scientific knowledge about the impact of chemicals on the health of humans and the environment.
