Organisation profile

Organisation profile

Our research is focused on the engineering of quantum systems of light and matter for applications in ultra-sensitive measurements and quantum information processing. The work is at the interface between quantum optics, nano- and micro-fabrication, nano-photonics, solid state engineering and cryogenic technology. The section also strongly benefits from fruitful interaction with a number of national and international research groups.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):

  • SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being
  • SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
