Organisation profile

Organisation profile

The Bacterial Cell Factory Optimisation group focuses on developing tools for production of biochemicals by engineering of novel biosynthetic pathways in bacterial production organisms through metabolic engineering, systems and synthetic biology. The group also focuses on utilisation of alternative carbon sources in order to decrease the production cost of bulk biochemicals.

UN Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. Our work contributes towards the following SDG(s):

  • SDG 3 - Good Health and Well-being
  • SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy
  • SDG 8 - Decent Work and Economic Growth
  • SDG 12 - Responsible Consumption and Production
  • SDG 13 - Climate Action
