    This set contains the fracture data used in the paper "Hydraulic aperture tensor of rough-walled fractures: impact of compression and shearing".

    The set consists of three files:
    - 'microscale_fracture_data.xdmf' and 'microscale_fracture_data.h5': These files contain a mesh (in XDMF format) saved using meshio (https://github.com/nschloe/meshio). The mesh file contains the microscale aperture data of all 1152 fracture samples used in the paper. For each fracture, there is a corresponding cell data in the mesh file named with an index number.
    - 'macroscale_fracture_data.parquet': This file contains the macroscale fracture data corresponding to the index numbers in the microscale fracture data file. The corresponding macroscale data includes: sample name, contact area, joint roughness coefficient (JRC), shear displacement magnitude (in meters), shear displacement angle (in degrees), macroscale aperture angle (in degrees), and minimum and maximum macroscale aperture components (in meters). This file was saved in Parquet format using Vaex (https://vaex.io/docs/).
