    In 2018, the Innovation Fund launched a new initiative aimed at promoting a better gender balance in entrepreneurship and top research. As part of the initiative, the fund has set up a group of eight women entrepreneurs and researchers affiliated with the fund.

    The group has been named InnoWomen, and the eight women must both provide input into the fund's own diversity policy and act as role models for potential applicants. 

    Sara Shafiee was the one recipient of the Innovation Fund's Business Researcher Awards in 2018 and one of the eight InnoWomen.
