Combination of intelligent lighting and fresh air increase school children's work performance significantly

    Description

Pupils become significantly better at concentrating and solving tasks when multiple indoor climate factors are simultaneously optimized in the classrooms. It shows an extensive but not yet published field study at the Byens School in Valby conducted by DTU. The result indicates that it has a certain effect on the students 'performance when improving air quality and lighting separately - but improving both at the same time gives a significant, positive effect on the students' performance. DTU researchers call the results significant because the increase in efficiency corresponds to a whole extra school year if you go to school from 0 to 9th grade - and the head of school welcomes the obviously greater well-being and concentration among the children.
