Description
Examples and showcases of Bachelor and Master student projects projects, when wood and LCA is combined. What is important when bringing wood into the design of buildings as a central resource is rarely the typical LCA-analysis itself. It’s the conflicting criteria of energy requirements, the static and dynamic considerations of the primary structure, it’s about the concerns of humidity and moisture control and the indoor environment. The tooling and approaches we take has to consider the more demanding and difficult consequence of using wood as a major resource in buildings, its not enough to simply compare U-values vs. material impacts.
