Description

SeqAsia is a training effort between the Technical University of Denmark, Denmark and Peter Doherty Institute, Melbourne, Australia. The project aims to strengthen Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) capacity by conducting a series of webinars and practical sessions along with an on-site training towards the end of the project timelines across One Health sectors in Asia. It focuses on providing support for Thailand to become a regional knowledge and skills hub for WGS.

Throughout 2025, the project will provide comprehensive training in WGS, Bioinformatics, and Genomic Epidemiology to selected sites across Thailand. The training includes online training, on-site training and simulated exercises provided by DTU and Peter Doherty Institute and aims to equip participating laboratories with skills and knowledge, fostering advancements within AMR detection, surveillance and outbreak investigation to study virulence genes.

The project is currently collaborating with both National Institute for Health (NIH) and Chulalongkorn University (CU-VET) to support their efforts to expand and strengthen institutional capacity within WGS.
