This webinar was the third in the SeqAfrica Webinar Series 2024. The expert panel of Dr. Errol Strain, Dr. Alejandro Dorado Garcia, Dr. Rod  Card, and Dr. Ute Wolff Sönksen, shared guidance on how to collect the right metadata to ensure that genomic analysis is useful for public health decision making. The panelists emphasized the necessity of having standardized metadata to enable data sharing, outbreak response, and policy development. They also highlighted the need for scalable solutions that will address the specific challenges that low- and middle-income countries may experience when adopting metadata systems and practices.
