Description
This study addresses the question of what processes nascent firms proceed through when creating their equity agreements? It adopts a multi-case theory-building approach to explore the key dynamics surrounding equity distribution decisions in nascent firms. By examining startups in their nascent stage, this research aims to unravel how team dynamics and changes in equity distribution influence a startup's decision to incorporate. A novel theoretical framework was developed for understanding the process that successful entrepreneurs use to develop their equity agreements: premarital counseling.
