Poster: Toward Defining an Absolute Sustainability Boundary for Nanomaterials

Activity: Talks and presentationsConference presentations

Description

Poster presentation in absence, i.e., co-author presented at the conference.

Environmental limits - planetary boundaries - must be defined to ensure that technological development remains within Earth’s safe operating space. The boundary for novel entities, including engineered nanomaterials (ENMs) is among the least defined due to data gaps and complex environmental behaviour. Defining an absolute sustainability boundary calls on three ingredients, namely 1) emission inventory, 2) impact of emissions, 3) allocation & interpretation.
