Microscope-on-a-disc: Wireless Powered/Transmitted Real-time Microscopic Imaging

Activity: Talks and presentations › Conference presentations

Description

A miniature optical microscope is developed and integrated on a microfluidic disc for monitoring microscopic samples. The miniature microscope is powered by a “Qi” wireless inductive energy transmission which enables a long time microscopic imaging on the spinning disc. The imaging signal is transmitted through Wi-Fi 2.4G to a smartphone or a PC. A preliminary experiment shows the wireless optical microscope can monitor micro-containers movements on a spinning disc at speed from 0 to 2,400 rpm.
