In the first of four webinars in the SeqAfrica Webinar Series 2024, the panel of experts explained key considerations when choosing the right isolation selection strategy for small projects and for larger national AMR surveillance. This introductory webinar was designed for Fleming Fund Country Grants and others new to using WGS for AMR surveillance. Panelists included Dr. Anne von Gottberg, Dr. Iruka Okeke, and Dr. Kathryn Holt. They discussed practical applications of sequencing for AMR surveillance, using findings from isolates to inform public health policies and measure intervention impacts, and balancing resource limitations with the need for actionable data.
