Description
This study explores how digital platforms such as Stripe, Amazon, and Klarna are redefining their roles in the carbon offset market, particularly within the Engineered Carbon Dioxide Removal (ECDR) sector. Unlike traditional sectors driven by high emissions, these platforms, characterized by lower direct emissions, are engaging in the ECDR market not merely to offset their carbon footprint but to strategically position themselves in an emerging market expected to significantly expand by mid-century. Our analysis reveals that these platforms are early adopters of new ECDR technologies, leveraging their innovative capabilities and broad market reach to secure a competitive edge.| Period | 19 Jun 2024 |
