IVC is the sole conference series which facilitate cross-talk among producers, analysts, nutritionist, policy makers and multi-disciplinary researchers with a common interest in vitamins and their metabolites. The mission of the IVC is to promote vitamin research, which includes their role in health and disease, mechanisms of action, accurate measurement, and optimal intake. IVC has created, and the intention is still that it will create, awareness of vitamins and support the strategy for research within vitamins. Support the creation of new knowledge and develop technologies and processes that contribute to UN SDGs 2 (Zero hunger), 3.4 (prevention of non-communicable diseases and promotion of mental health and well-being) and 12 (responsible consumption and production).
The scientific program for IVC2023 (www.vitaminconference.com) has been decided by a Steering and Scientific Committee (SSC) whose 13 members represent universities and private companies in Denmark (DTU; UCPH), Finland (University of Helsinki), Ireland (University of College Cork), Germany (Technical University of Munich), the Netherlands (Wageningen University; University of Gronningen) , Switzerland (Nestle), USA (University of Florida; Rutgers University), South Korea (CHA University) and Australia (University of New South Wales). This year we have made an initiative that is intended to contribute to creating a network of young researchers in the field of vitamins. Therefore, a committee of young researchers (PhD, PostDoc) from Denmark, Finland, Germany and Australia, are organizing a Young Scientist Camp at DTU.
In the local organising committee (LOC) for IVC2023 is from University of Copenhagen Prof. Susanne Bügel and Prof. Jens Lykkesfelt, and Jørgen Boesen as the Professional Conference Organisor from Boesen & Co, and Senior Researcher Jette Jakobsen as chair for LOC and SSC.
