The development of high-frequency scattering analysis techniques constitutes an on-going research project in the Antenna and Electromagnetics Group of the Department of Electromagnetic Systems. These techniques apply to the determination of the scattering of electromagnetic fields by complex structures in antenna and radar applications. In 1998 and 1999 the work was focussed on the incorporation of a recently obtained canonical solution for slope diffraction into the Physical Theory of Diffraction (PTD). Two sets of Equivalent Edge Currents (EEC's) were derived which represent the slope diffraction Fringe Wave current on infinite and truncated incremental strips, respectively. These slope PTD-EEC's have not previously been reported in the literature. Numerical results based on the new expressions were calculated and compared to reference results obtained from an integral- equation/method-of-moment solution. The agreement observed verifies the validity of the derived slope PTD-EEC's.
