Ulrich Quaade is using microfabricated reactors for measurement of the reactivity of nanoparticles. Microfabricated reactors are chemical reactors with at least one dimension in the micrometer range. Due to the small size the flow inside the reactors is laminar and heat is efficiently dissipated to the surroundings. These properties make it possible to run chemical reactions under conditions that are impossible to reach in traditional systems. Further, the small systems are extremely sensitive.
