My PhD project will concern itself with human genomic variation and its
influence on the immune system. The increasing amount of human DNA sequence
data reveals that human genomic variation is widespread even within
phenotypically normal individuals. Understanding genomic variation may aid us in
developing new therapies and enable us to better control the immune system and
guide it into favourable responses against pathogens and cancer.
