Expertise

Molecular biology – metabolic engineering – applied microbiology. Research interests have been focused on genetic engineering of novel bacterial biocatalyst for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass into ethanol fuels. Experience with construction of recombinant strains with improved properties and design of novel engineering processes for the production of ethanol. Research interest is now focused on development of microalgae for biodiesel production. Experiences in creating, screening and selecting novel micro-algal mutants with a potential for an economical algal-biodiesel production process.
