My primary research area is within molecular spectroscopy of biomolecules. Here, vibrational spectroscopy is mostly applied on single molecule level, where the first changes in, e.g. a protein could be detected, and thus, a diagnostic of a disease can be achieved. We were the first to observe chirality - in peptides and proteins in a concentration > µM using SEROA.
Raman, ROA, SERS, SEROA are our routine tools, combined with other spectroscopical tools such as Fluorescence, Patch Clamp and optical manipulation.
