Subject Editor of the International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment for the areas of Environmental fate and human exposure of chemicals; LCIA of impacts on human health and ecosystems. Contributing to the establishment of global recommended practice and guidance on life cycle impact assessment (LCIA) and uncertainty management in life cycle assessment (LCA). Member (partly chairman) of several expert groups and task forces of the UNEP-SETAC Life Cycle Initiative as well as advisory groups of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC). Expert Evaluator for the European Commission’s 7th Framework Programme. Reviewer for several international journals (e.g. Environmental Science and Technology, Environment International, Ecological Modelling, International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Journal of Environmental Management).
