Monzurul Alam holds a PhD in Petrophysics. He received his master’s degree in petroleum engineering and his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering. As a mechanical engineer he started his carrier with the textile industry and later received further education in petroleum engineering.  His current focus of research is on rock-fluid interaction and its influence on hydrocarbon reservoir stability. His works fall mostly within the areas of petrophysics, geophysics and rock-mechanics. He utilizes propagation velocity of elastic wave in rocks, electrical resistivity and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) for a large part of his research. He worked in several university-industry collaborated projects and continuing in similar a project in his Postdoc.
