I hold a Ph.D. in molecular food microbiology and work in the group of Molecular Diagnostics at the National Food Institute.

My research is focused mainly on development, standardization and validation of molecular-based microbiological methods for detection, enumeration and characterization of foodborne pathogens.

I am team leader of the Campylobacter activities in the group of Molecular Diagnostics. Currently I am involved in the integrated EU project BIOTRACER, working with differentiation of signal from DNA arising from viable and dead Campylobacter by PCR, epidemiology of Campylobacter infection in free range organic geese investigated by sequence-based typing, and a metagenomic approach to characterization of Campylobacter.

Besides this I lecture on the courses Avanceret Anvendtorienteret Fødevarmikrobiologi and Biological Chemistry at DTU.

I am responsible for the PCR, real-time PCR and sequencing facilities of the Molecular Diagnostics group.
