I am a PhD in Marine Biology and Aquaculture by the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). I am currently working as postdoc at Bacterial Ecophysiology and Biotechnology group at Division I of DTU National Food Institute.

In the past 10 years, I have been working with marine bacteria, studying their interaction with different marine organisms: dinoflagellates, microalgae, molluscs and fish. During my PhD I studied the application of probiotic Roseobacter clade bacteria in the culture of turbot (Psetta maxima) larvae at the Marine Research Institute (CSIC) in Vigo (Spain). At present, I continue working with Roseobacter bacteria (Phaeobacter gallaeciensis and Ruegeria mobilis), focusing on their physiology in order to improve their application as probiotics in aquaculture.
