Jesper Mygind's main field of research is within: Solid state physics, low temperature physics, dynamics of nonlinear systems, superconductivity, Josephson effect, quantum devices, quantum metrology, nano devices, cryogenic STM/AFM/MFM, carbonnanotubes (SWCNT), millikelvin technique, high frequency properties, noise and fluctuations.

Current research projects:

  • Spectral linewidth and phase locking of 200GHz - 1.2THz Josephson Flux Flow Oscillators, FFO
  • Integrated submm all-superconducting receiver (SIR) with high spectral resolution.
  • Noise and linewidth of Cherenkov Flux Flow Oscillators, CFFO.
  • Fluxon interactions and trapping in long linear and annular Josephson junctions
  • Spontaneous Kibble-Zurek type trapping of magnetic flux quanta in single superconducting ring
  • Miniature STM/AFM for millikelvin temperatures
  • Josephson radiation emission from high-Tc junctions and arrays
  • Electronic devices made with carbon nanotubes
  • Cryogenic Scanning Laser Microscope, CSLM (on hold)
  • Direct writing with AFM of nano-size electronic devices (on hold)
