Joined the UNEP Risø Centre in September 2010 as a researcher within the Cleaner Energy Development group. Analytical work focuses on the design and implementation of enabling frameworks for climate change mitigation technologies, using multi-criteria, economic baselines and outcome mapping methodologies. Involved in the GEF-funded Technology Needs Assessment project as a country coordinator. In-country working experience (research, consultancy, project implementation) in Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Ghana, Grenada, Moldova, Nepal, Nicaragua, Peru, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Zambia. Also involved in two FP7 projects: the African Climate portal that promoted the uptake of climate change research in policy making in Africa, and CAAST Net+ that aims to inform the Africa-EU climate change policy dialogue, focusing on the role of research, science and technology. Editorial board member of the Journal of Cleaner Production and The Extractive Industries and Society. Prior to Denmark had a lectureship in Sustainable Development at the University of Reading (UK), conducted research into the politics and social conflict surrounding the development of oil and gas in the Peruvian Amazon (2009-2010) and worked in the private sector providing non-financial risk assessments for extractive companies operating in less developed countries (2007-2008). PhD from Imperial College London, funded by the UK Economic and Social Research Council (2003-2006), on electricity market reforms Argentina. Thesis based on the 'ideational turn' in political science, to understand the ongoing role and importance of free-market ideas and arguments in a post-crisis, post-neoliberal, landscape.
