Iván Arana received the bachelor degree from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico in 2005 and MSc. degree from Danmarks Tekniske Universitet, Denmark in 2008.

He is now an Industrial PhD. Student at the Centre for Electric Technology in cooperation with DONG Energy and Siemens Wind Power. His research interests include protection coordination, emt simulations and harmonic studies in the collection grid of offshore wind farms. He has industrial experience in wind turbine manufacturers, energy audit consulting services and power utilities.
