Irini Angelidaki (IA), PhD is Professor at DTU with wide expertise in the area of biofuels (biogas, biohydrogen, bioethanol) production, optimization of the anaerobic processes and development of sustainable solutions for organic waste and wastewater treatment. She has approx. 175 scientific publications, 2 patents and she is a member of the editorial board in 3 international biotechnological/environmental journals. Furthermore, she is member of several national and international groups. She is a member of the managing committee of the AD Specialist Group IWA. She has the last 10 years coordinated a large number of projects financed both from EU and from national funding.

IA is coordinator of the Bioenergy Group at DTU Environment an active and dynamic research group working in the following areas: Biogas, Biohydrogen, Microbial Fuel Cells, and Biorefineries.
