Bacterial resistance towards antimicrobial agents are an increasing problem for human health.

My key expertise in within the field of molecular typing of bacteria as well as emergence, adaptation and spread of antimicrobial resistance in bacteria. This includes both phenotypic as well as genotypic methods to detect existing and new resistance determinants. My main focus is on Extended-Spectrum Beta-lactamase (ESBL) and carbapenemase (CPE) producing E. coli and Salmonella as well as Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
