In more than 40 years Hans Bruun Nielsen has worked with numerical analysis and its applications, primarily for engineering and scientific computations. His main fields of interest are numerical linear algebra and methods for optimization and data fitting. His focus is on the development of robust and efficient implementations and the development of new algorithms based on so-called 'surrogate models', eg Kriging, Radial Basis Functions and Space-mapping.
