Expertise

I would say that my technical specialties lie in developing and designing electrical machines. I am a seasoned user of finite element modelling software packages and have worked with induction machines, PM machines, wound field synchronous machines, transformers and inductors. In rating terms the machines that I have worked with range from sub-kW induction motors up to 800MW turbogenerators. On the management and commercial side I have successfully lead teams of up to 30 engineers and technicians; I established and built up a small company that I consequently sold off; and I have supervised and managed several projects.
