Research

My research activities focus on occurrence and control of pathogenic microorganisms in the food chain and methods to reduce or prevent the establishment of pathogens such as physical and chemical decontamination techniques, and methods to optimise production hygiene.  The work also includes investigation of pathogen colonization/attachment of meat surfaces as well as in the production environment and development of mathematical models to perform international and national quantitative farm-to-fork risk assessments on food borne pathogens.

Management

Project management Currently head of Division of Microbiology and Risk Assessment at National Food Institute, DTU, employing ca. 70 academics and 40 technicians. I am responsible for, research, education, daily administration and personnel. The section holds a large number of externally financed projects. I have participated in several externally financed national and international projects.
