I am a veterinarian from Brazil. After receive my DVM degree, I moved to Georgia, US, where I got my Master in Public Health (MPH) degree and later, to Denmark, where in 2008 I concluded my PhD in Veterinary epidemiology.

My research field is general veterinary epidemiology with the main focus on the epidemiology of antimicrobial resistance and association between non-human antimicrobial usage and development of antimicrobial resistance in bacteria from food animals.

Additional research areas include spatial epidemiology, risk assessment and general food safety.
