I am a PhD. student from Institute of Environment & Resources, and work with control of groundwater. I am a part of a lager project called “Well Field Optimisation”, which corroborates with DHI, RUC, Grundfoss and Watertech. The goal of the project is to make a tool, which can control how much groundwater a waterwork pump from individual wells. By couple a groundwater model over the area, well models for the individual wells and a water distribution model we will gain a much better understanding of how the water catchment affect the groundwater. My part of the project is to make an optimization part. In water catchment there are many conflicting parameters to take into account, for example to pump cheapest possible, to protect the surrounding rivers, to take nearby pollution into account, to minimizing groundwater drawdown. All these parameters must be optimized so the water catchment can be as effective as possible.
