Current activities: Determination of fossil and biogenic carbon in combustible waste and estimation of carbon dioxide emission factors (kg carbon dioxide/GJ) for waste incineration. The work includes radiocarbon dating of carbon dioxide in flue gas (measurements on output) and substance flow modelling (modelling of a heterogeneous input).
Previous activities: Life cycle assessment (LCA) of waste management systems with focus on waste collection. The work included LCAs of recycling and incineration of household waste and bulky waste in Denmark , measurements of fuel consumption, modelling of waste transportation, estimation of greenhouse gas emissions from recycling technologies, and development of LCA databases on waste management.
