Dr Lio is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Wind Energy at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). His research interests include model predictive control and state estimation, and its applications in wind energy.

 

Prior to joining the department, Dr Lio did his undergraduate studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at  Imperial College London from 2008 to 2012, where he received his first degree (MEng) with first-class honours. During his final year at Imperial, he completed his thesis under the supervision of Dr Eric Kerrigan and Dr Ian Couchman from Vestas Wind Systems. In 2013, Dr Lio joined the University of Sheffield as a recipient of the Faculty of Scholarship Award and Macau Postgraduate Scholarship to pursue his graduate studies under the supervision of Dr J Anthony Rossiter and Dr Bryn Ll Jones in the Department of Automatic Control and Systems Engineering. He received his PhD degree in 2017 and his PhD thesis has been recognised with the prestigious Springer thesis prize for its significant achievements in the field of control engineering and wind energy.
