From the analysis of wavelenghts to the artificielle world of computer graphics numerous application areas are found, and because of the development of algorithms and hardware applications appear in the home, car, industry and healtch care. Image analysis is often combined with visualization and modelling from computer graphics, why research and development in both areas are symbiotically combined.

Image analysis and computer graphics is no longer limited to simple analysis and computer games but plays and ever increasing role in todays high technology society spanning from the industrial automation of processes to peoples daily lives, where we interact with machines, robots and our surroundings using visual input and output.
