Organisation profile

EMI’s research and education activities focus on subjects related to electromagnetic fields, their propagation and interaction with the surroundings.

The subjects cover basic theory such as propagation in inhomogeneous materials, scattering and inverse scattering. Furthermore, they cover a number of application-oriented fields such as antenna design and measurement techniques, microwave technology including monolithic integrated circuits for wide-band electronics, design and construction of microwave remote sensing systems (radar- and radiometer systems), and remote sensing applications including information extraction from measurement data and electromagnetic modeling related to Earth science.
