CICT (Center for Information and Communication Technologies) is a unique industry/ university collaboration. Leading international equipment producers Motorola, Nokia, Siemens and Nettest have joined forces with The Technical University of Denmark (DTU) to realise a multi-disciplinary research and training in applications of ICT. CICT is inspired by the ideas for future-oriented, industry-related technical ICT-competences developed by the industry-led EU project CareerSpace (website).
It is a central aim of the center to contribute to international research at the highest level. The overall aim for CICT research is to provide and investigate the basis for new ICT applications; to analyse and develop ICT applications; to develop their framework and strategies; to analyse and suggest policies and regulation related to emerging ICT applications including economic, social and cultural implications of their introduction. The basic idea of the center is to provide expertise and competencies to help private firms and public institutions solve the new problems and exploit the new opportunities presented by the development of ICTs.
