Organisation profile

The Center for BioProcess Engineering currently hosts and manages three larger research structures:

1. The Novozymes BioProcess Academy was established in 2002 with substantial support from

Novozymes A/S. Currently, 8 full-time, post-graduate students studying for the qualification of PhD as well as 4 MSc students are enrolled with the academy.

2. The Research Consortium “Innovative BioProcess Technology” was established in 2005 as a major research collaboration between Center for Biochemical Engineering – a cooperation between

The Dept. of Chemical Engineering and BioCentrum, DTU – and the three major Danish biobased companies: Novozymes A/S, Danisco A/S, and Chr. Hansen A/S. The programme will run for at least 5 years and educate at least 5 PhD, 1 postdoc, and 10 MSc candidates.

3. Center for Biological Production of Dietary Fibres and Prebiotics. Started Jan. 1. 2007 via a grant from Danish Council for Strategic Research (Programme Committee on Food and Health) and with main support from Danisco A/S. The Centre will educate minimum 9 PhDs and 4 postdocs.
